Vice Chair - Board of Directors

Dr. Leonita "Leo" Smith was appointed in 2022 to the East County Schools Board of Directors. Leo has served in the K-14 arena for the past 25 years. She is a resident of East County and a long-time member of the ECSFCU. Dr. Smith is currently retired. She was employed at the San Diego County Office of Education for 15 years, and as the change agent for the organization and schools across the county, her position affords the ability to bring a unique perspective, depth, and breadth of experience to the Board. Leo is invested in our educational system at every level; and plans to leverage this wealth of experience to work collaboratively with the Board.
